What Is a Deep Dental Cleaning?
A deep dental cleaning is a procedure used to treat gum disease and prevent further damage. It includes two main parts:
- Scaling: We remove plaque and hardened tartar from above and below the gumline.
- Root Planing: We smooth the surfaces of the roots so the gums can reattach and bacteria are less likely to return.
Depending on the severity of your condition and how advanced is your gum disease, your treatment may be completed in one or more visits.
