Why Wisdom Teeth May Need to Be Removed
Wisdom teeth are the last to come in and often the first to cause issues. Without enough space to grow properly, they can come in crooked, press against other teeth, or stay trapped under the gums, leading to pain, swelling, or infection.
We often recommend wisdom tooth removal when we see signs of:
- Crowding or shifting of other teeth
- Partially erupted wisdom teeth that are difficult to clean
- Gum inflammation or recurring infections
- Impacted wisdom teeth causing pressure or pain
- Cysts or other complications around the tooth
By removing problematic wisdom teeth early, we can help prevent more serious dental issues, including pain, cysts, gum disease, and misalignment.
